Empowering Dreams: Our Journey of Education Sponsorship
Over fifty years ago, a transformative dream took root in Ratta Village, Kisumu County, Kenya, thanks to seven visionary Christian women led by Mama Dorka Nyong'o. Their mission was clear - empower young girls in the region with access to formal education. Mama Dorka's passion for education, born from her own experience as one of the few girls attending a missionary school, fueled the desire to uplift her community's girl child.

In August 2011, TWIGA was founded, and in January 2012, the Ratta Girls' Hostel became one of TWIGA's empowering projects. This hostel provided a safe haven for disadvantaged girls, eliminating the obstacles of vulnerable living conditions and empowering them to focus on their studies.
A significant aspect of TWIGA Girls Foundation's mission is its sponsorship of school fees for talented and ambitious young girls. With unwavering commitment, TWIGA has facilitated the educational aspirations of numerous girls, bridging the gap and breaking barriers that once hindered their academic growth. Through the foundation's support, these girls have gained access to quality education, unlocking their full potential and paving the way for a brighter future.

Today, the Ratta Girls' Hostel stands as a beacon of hope and empowerment, a testament to TWIGA Girls Foundation's enduring legacy. The hostel's operation is now entrusted to the capable hands of the local Mothers' Union, showcasing the strong community support and collaboration driving the foundation's initiatives.
